Discount and Exemption Policies

I. Free Admission

1. Children aged 6 or under, or 1.2 meters or shorter, are eligible for free admission.

2. Visitors holding a personal “Beijing Municipal Transportation Senior/Disability Assistance Card” may enter by swiping the card.

3. Visitors aged 60 or above (from provinces and cities outside Beijing) may enter by presenting a valid ID.

4. Foreign visitors aged 60 or above who hold a Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card may enter by presenting the card.

5. Foreign visitors aged 60 or above may enter by presenting a valid passport.

6. Persons with disabilities may enter by presenting a valid disability certificate.

7. Active-duty military personnel, armed police, fire and rescue personnel, and retired military service members may enter by presenting valid IDs (currently excluding holders of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Veteran Preference Card).

8. Groups of primary, secondary and university students visiting the patriotic education bases (Gengzhitu Naval Training School, Yishou Tang) may enter free of charge with an advance reservation.

II. Discounted Tickets

9. Minors over 6 and up to 18 years old (inclusive), and full-time university students (undergraduate level and below), may purchase discounted tickets by presenting a valid ID card or student ID. Youth visitors from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan may purchase discounted tickets by presenting valid documents such as a Mainland Travel Permit or student ID.

10. Foreign minors over 6 and up to 18 years old (inclusive) who hold a Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card, and full-time university students (undergraduate level and below), may purchase discounted tickets by presenting valid ID.

11. Persons receiving social security benefits may purchase discounted tickets by presenting valid certificates.

III. Holiday and Other Discounts

12. On International Women’s Day and Youth Day, groups with an official introduction letter from their organization may purchase discounted tickets.

13. On Children’s Day (June 1), all children receive free admission. For group visits, accompanying teachers (not exceeding 10% of the number of children) also receive free admission.

14. Tour guides leading tour groups may enter for free by presenting a valid government-issued guide licence, travel agency itinerary and tour dispatch certificate. Unlicensed guides or those with invalid documents must purchase tickets.

The above policies are implemented in accordance with NDRC Price Document [2012] No. 283 and Beijing Municipal Price Bureau Document Jingjia (Shou) [2001] No. 008.
